The Music Theory Society of Florida State University is pleased to announce its 39th annual Music Theory Forum to be held Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 online (via Zoom). We are excited to welcome Professor Ellie Hisama (Faculty of Music, University of Toronto) as this year’s keynote speaker. The Music Theory Society is currently soliciting paper proposals on any topic related to music theory. All proposals must be submitted electronically in PDF format, and must be received by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Please email these PDF files to: email@example.com. Submissions should include the following:
-An anonymous proposal of no more than 500 words, including any footnotes or endnotes. A maximum of four pages of supplementary materials may be appended (which will not be counted within the word limit, but should not appreciably add to the word count or content of the proposal);
-An anonymous abstract of 200–300 words suitable for publication;
-A cover letter written in the body of the email providing the title of the proposal, the author’s name and institutional affiliation, phone number, and e-mail address.
We aim to notify selected presenters by mid-December. Accepted presentations will be twenty minutes in length and will be presented live on Zoom on Jan. 22nd followed by ten minutes of discussion. (Presenters wishing to share a pre-recorded video paper during their live Zoom session are welcome to do so.) Information regarding registration for the conference will be available at fsumts.wordpress.com by late December. Questions about any aspect of the Music Theory Forum may be directed to the Forum co-chairs, Jordan Lenchitz and Armin Akhavian, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
