Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music requests applications for a One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Cognition. Full-Time, NonTenure-Eligible.
Position begins September 1, 2021.
Teaching, research, and service activities consistent with those of a large school of music within a research university. Teach upper level undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in music theory as well as other courses and seminars in the applicant’s area(s) of expertise and scholarly interest(s).
Required
• Doctoral degree in Music Theory.
• Record of research activity through publications and/or national/international presentations.
• Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching music theory at the university level.
Preferred
• Expertise in 19th- and/or 20th-century repertoires.
