Anderson University seeks candidates for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty member, for Music Theory beginning August 2022. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a 9-month full-time contract position, compensated over 12-months.
> This faculty position will teach undergraduate music theory and aural skills courses.
> Teach music theory in the Masters of Music Education program.
> Expand and develop curriculum related to music theory and aural skills.
> Teach composition as needed.
> Develop improvisation skills of students across the music curriculum.
> Additional duties contingent upon strengths of the candidate.
> Doctorate required, ABD considered.
> Evidence of successful college teaching experience.
> Knowledge of current music theory and aural skills pedagogy.
> Proficiency in appropriate technology for teaching music theory.
> Ability to teach composition.
> Desire to work primarily with undergraduate students.
> Ability to relate well with colleagues, prospective students, & community.
> Active member of appropriate professional organizations.
