Instructor of Music Theory. The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, temporary instructor. This position is a non-tenure earning, renewable 3-year appointment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary duties will include teaching undergraduate courses in music theory and music appreciation; graduate courses in music theory; and the supervision of graduate teaching assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in music theory; Ph.D. candidates currently working on dissertations will be considered. Successful college teaching experience is required.

The successful candidate will be capable of teaching a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate music theory courses each semester. In addition, supervision of graduate teaching assistants who teach the musicianship components of select courses may also be required.
