The Moores School of Music at the University of Houston is pleased to invite applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory/Musicology. The commitment will be for the academic year fall 2022 through spring 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The selected candidate will serve as a member of the Composition, Musicology, and Music Theory Division faculty. As such, the applicants for this position should also be prepared to:
● Teach music history and music theory courses at undergraduate, graduate, and performance certificate levels
● Engage in related service activities at the departmental and/or university levels

The ideal candidate will have experience in higher education, an aptitude for innovative approaches to teaching and mentoring students, a commitment to collaboration. QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:
● Terminal degree in the discipline; master’s degrees considered if experience warrants
● Evidence of significant college-level teaching experience in a music school
