The Moores School of Music seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Music Theory at the Assistant Professor level, for appointment September 1, 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Applicants should be prepared to (a) teach in the freshman/sophomore theory and aural skills program; (b) teach undergraduate and graduate electives in music theory; (c) direct graduate research projects and provide mentoring for music theory TAs; (d) pursue an active program of scholarly research and publication in Music Theory; and (e) contribute, through teaching as well as through a combination of research or service, to the McGovern College’s objective to foster an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum and to offer interdisciplinary experiences for all of its students.

Applicants in all research areas of music theory are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have a completed Ph.D. in music theory. Evidence of scholarly achievement and successful teaching experience are essential.
