1. All presenters must be registered for the conference a minimum of two weeks prior to the first day of the Annual Meeting. Failure to do so may result in being removed from the program schedule.
  2. For joint meetings, registrants may be a current member of either organization; however, presenters in SMT-only sessions must be current members of SMT at the time of registration. (For invited speakers, see points 3-4, below.)
  3. Special session speakers within the field of theory who were invited by the SMT Program Committee will have their registration fee waived, but any outstanding balances must be resolved by the first date of attendance at the Annual Meeting.
  4. Keynote and plenary presenters will receive complimentary registration and one year of complimentary membership.
  5. Any presenter invited by an interest group or standing committee must pay the registration fee. Additionally, the presenter must resolve any outstanding balance by the first date of attendance at the Annual Meeting. The standing committee or interest group is ultimately responsible for the registration and membership fees of presenters they have invited.
  6. Exception: The registration fee may be waived for invited presenters (including those in points 3-5) who are currently outside the field of music theory. If you need clarification on this exception, contact the Executive Director.
