The Music Society at Temple (themus) invites paper proposals for its ninth annual graduate conference on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Research relating to any field of music studies (music theory, history, ethnomusicology, composition, interdisciplinary studies) will be considered. Proposals should be designed for a 20-minute presentation/10-minute discussion format.

Our keynote speaker will be Professor Licia Carlson of Providence College. Professor Carlson is an interdisciplinary expert in Philosophy of Disability, Biomedical Ethics, 20th Century Continental Philosophy, Philosophy of Music, and Feminist Philosophy. She released her most recent book, Embracing Asymmetry and Humility in the Face of Disability, in 2019, and plans to have another book out on music, philosophy, and disability in 2022.
