These grants are made possible in part by donations from the SMT-Forward campaign.
Purpose
This award is intended to help those for whom conference attendance would pose financial difficulties and who have no access to other funding, to help defray the costs associated with attending the SMT Annual Meeting.
Eligibility
- Applicants need not be SMT members.
- Adjunct instructors, independent scholars who do not hold academic positions, and all those for whom conference attendance would pose financial difficulties and who have no access to other funding are invited to apply.
- Students are not eligible to apply for this grant.
- Preference is given to those who are presenting a paper and have not been awarded this grant previously.
Award
Typically up to 5 grants are made, with a maximum award of $400.
