Are you a graduate student (at any level, including ABD) eager to develop your teaching skills and pedagogical approaches? Then consider joining us for an intensive 3-day "music theory pedagogy bootcamp" at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) sponsored by the Gail Boyd de Stwolinski Center for Music Theory Pedagogy and the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy.
This retreat aims to equip music theory educators through hands-on experience, collaborative learning, and expert mentorship. Over the course of 3 days, you'll participate in:
Small group discussions on handling challenging classroom scenarios and integrating technology
Teaching demonstrations with immediate feedback (filmed for your portfolio)
Collaborative project work on lesson planning and assessment
Discussions of current pedagogical research and best practices
CV and teaching philosophy editing
