The Graduate Theory Association and Graduate Musicology Association of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music are pleased to announce their joint 2022 Symposium of Research in Music, to take place at Jacobs School of Music (Bloomington, Indiana) on March 25–26, 2022.
In addition to paper presentations and roundtables, we are very happy to welcome Dr. Catherine Coppola (Hunter College Department of Music) as our keynote speaker. We will also have presentations from Dr. Michèle Duguay (Music Theory) and Dr. Sergio Ospina Romero (Musicology).
We are currently soliciting proposals relevant to any subfield of music research, including (but not limited to) music theory, music analysis, musicology, ethnomusicology, composition, and related disciplines. Papers may address any musical repertoire, as we hope to feature a wide variety of musical conversations. Applicants should prepare for a 20-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of Q&A.
