The Faculty of Arts and Sports Sciences at TU Dortmund University is seeking to fill the position of a Professor (W2) in “Music Theory” commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate will represent the field of “Music Theory” in research and teaching.
An appropriate contribution to the faculty’s curriculum is expected. Applicants will teach the full range of Music Theory on the degree programs: Music Education, Music Journalism and the Master in Cultural Analysis and Cultural Intermediation.
TU Dortmund University is seeking an outstanding individual and established researcher in Music Theory with relevant international publications in recognized venues, including those with peer-review. The candidate should also be preferably qualified in artistic work (composition/arrangement) and/or have experience in teaching composition.
Applicants should complement the research activities of the Faculty of Arts and Sports Sciences and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborative research projects within and outside TU Dortmund University. Experience in raising third-party funds is an asset. The successful candidate will possess social and leadership skills and be willing to be involved in academic self-governance.
