Temporary position
This position will be assisting in a research study by teaching music appreciation classes to older adults. The instructor would be responsible for teaching several classes by following a prescribed research protocol. The music trainers are required to note participation and compliance in training activities as well as evaluate learning throughout the program.
DUTIES:
> Instructs music appreciation classes for older adults following a standardized research protocol.
> Maintains positive relationships and dialogue with enrolled adults in the research study.
> Maintains data and records on participant progress and achievement; Administers pre- and post-evaluations to participants.
> Conducts participant recruitment according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.
> Attends weekly laboratory meetings.
> Completes other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in music or a related field OR a bachelor's degree in any field with at least one year of music training or music teaching experience OR any combination of education and music teaching experience for a total of 5 years.
PREFERRED:
Research experience or experience teaching music to older adult learners.
