School of Music: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor – Double Reed and Theory/Aural Skills

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Double Reeds and Theory/Aural Skills to join the UTRGV School of Music beginning Fall 2022 on our Brownsville & Edinburg campuses.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Music (Bassoon or Oboe performance) is required from an accredited university.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Music (Bassoon or Oboe performance) is required from an accredited university.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications: University teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Performance and teaching experience on both bassoon and oboe, university theory and/or aural skills teaching experience, demonstrated ability to recruit students. Applicants will teach at both the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses.

SALARY
Tenure-Track faculty are paid a 9-month academic rate commensurate with experience and/or qualification in the discipline.

Hotel Reservations 

The Hyatt Regency Riverfront Hotel (225 E Coastline Drive) has reserved a block of rooms for conference attendees. The rates are $169/night for single and double occupancy; $194/night for triple occupancy; $219/night for quadruple occupancy; and $169 for student quadruple occupancy (limited rooms available). Hotel reservations for non-students may be made online.  SMT student members should have received an email with a code to reserve at the student rate; please email Jennifer Diaz at smt@societymusictheory.org if you did not receive the email. 

Using the conference room block at this hotel helps us meet our contractual obligations and keeps you close to all conference activities.

Student Helpers
