Please join us this fall as we gather for our 47th Annual Meeting in Jacksonville, FL. Our Annual Meeting attracts more than 700 theorists from colleges, universities, and conservatories from around the world.

About the Meeting

The Society for Music Theory, with 1,200 members, brings together academics, graduate students, and other professionals specializing in music theory in higher education. It will be the forty-seventh Annual Meeting and provides an opportunity for attendees to network, share knowledge, and explore new directions in music research and practice. More than 150 presentations are scheduled, along with workshops, small meetings, receptions, and other events.

By participating in this year’s meeting, you will reach a large, specialized audience of customers for your products and services. We are expecting more than 700 registrants of leading specialists in the U.S., Canada, and other countries, including heads of research institutes, academic deans and department chairs, private consultants, and graduate students.

Exhibits

Exhibits will be located in the same room as registration and adjacent to the conference session rooms. Complimentary refreshment breaks will be provided in the exhibit area. Tables are 8′ x 30″ and come with two chairs, a tablecloth, and skirting. Exhibitors have the option to pay extra for featured placement.

Reservations and Deadlines

The reservation deadline has passed; however, we are still accepting reservations as long as space permits.

    • Thursday, November 7, 1:00–6:30 pm
    • Friday, November 8, 8:30 am–6:30 pm
    • Saturday, November 9, 8:30 am–6:30 pm
  • Exhibit Tear-down: Saturday, November 9, 6:30–8:30 pm

Release of Liability

Exhibitor shall be fully responsible to pay for any and all damages to property owned by Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Society for Music Theory, or their owners or managers, which results from any act or omission of Exhibitor. Exhibitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless, Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Society for Music Theory, and their respective owners, managers, officers or directors, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates, from any damages or charges resulting from Exhibitor’s use of the property. Exhibitor’s liability shall include, without limitation, all losses, costs, damages, or expenses arising from or out of or by reason of any accident or bodily injury or other occurrences to any person or persons, including the Exhibitor, its agents, employees, and business invitees which arise from or out of the Exhibitor’s occupancy and use of the exhibition premises, Hotel, or any part thereof.

Conference Program Book Advertising

The deadline to reserve a program book ad for the 2024 Annual Meeting has passed.

Advertise with SMT in our annual meeting program guide, available as a black & white printed on-demand version and a color PDF with potential hyperlinks.

This year, our program book will be 8.5" x 11” and ads are being offered in full and half sizes. The reservation deadline has passed. Please email the ad copy to Jennifer Diaz at smt@societymusictheory.org.

File Formats

PDFs are preferred, but high-resolution TIF and JPG files are acceptable.

Minimum resolution recommended for images: 300 dpi.

Payment for Exhibits and Advertisements

Payment is due in full by Friday, September 27, 2024.

You may opt to mail a check, money order, or purchase order to 200 S Eagleson Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47405, or send your payment via PayPal or Zelle.

Cancellations on or before September 27 will be fully refunded (a $25 charge will be assessed).
