GENERAL INFO

The Greenwood School of Music invites applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music Theory positions. The successful candidates should demonstrate excellence and creativity in teaching courses in the undergraduate and graduate theory curricula which include the freshman/sophomore core curriculum, upper division courses such as structural analysis, post-tonal analysis, counterpoint, orchestration/arranging, popular music theory as well as graduate level analytical techniques, and/or other related courses as assigned by the theory area coordinator. We welcome applicants with broader research interests and teaching experiences that include diverse repertories and methodologies.
In addition to instruction, all music faculty members are expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, to be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote an inclusive workplace and learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Earned doctorate in music theory preferred; ABD applicants may be considered; secondary areas in composition or music history desirable.

SALARY
Salary commensurate with qualifications and contingent upon funding availability.

Hotel Reservations 

The Hyatt Regency Riverfront Hotel (225 E Coastline Drive) has reserved a block of rooms for conference attendees. The rates are $169/night for single and double occupancy; $194/night for triple occupancy; $219/night for quadruple occupancy; and $169 for student quadruple occupancy (limited rooms available). Hotel reservations for non-students may be made online.  SMT student members should have received an email with a code to reserve at the student rate; please email Jennifer Diaz at smt@societymusictheory.org if you did not receive the email. 

Using the conference room block at this hotel helps us meet our contractual obligations and keeps you close to all conference activities.
