Mission statement
The SMT Music Cognition Group (MCG) seeks to promote the study and scholarship of music cognition and it implications for music theory and analysis.
Activities
Since 1986, the group has planned and presented several special sessions and poster sessions at national SMT meetings. The SMT Music Cognition Group maintains offsite web pages with minutes and summaries of panels from past meetings.
Online presence and discussion
The Music Cognition group maintains an external website.
How to join
There are no requirements for membership; simply attend our meetings at annual SMT meetings to participate.
