The Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester invites applications for a full time, tenure eligible position in Music Theory to begin 1 July 2023.
We are open to any research specialty, possibly including one or more of the following areas:
• contemporary popular music, broadly construed;
• areas such as feminist theory, critical theory, and music/philosophy intersections;
• multimedia, including film and game music;
• music cognition;
• performance studies;
• theory and analysis of non-Western music.
Applicants should have a completed PhD in music theory (or be advanced ABD) and be prepared to teach at any level of the undergraduate and graduate curricula, including seminars in their area(s) of specialization and courses in core theory and aural skills.
