The University is situated in Tallahassee, Florida’s beautiful, wooded capital city with an area population over 375,000. Located in the Big Bend area of northern Florida, Tallahassee enjoys a mild change of season and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico.
Teach courses from among current undergraduate and graduate music theory offerings and/or in the candidate’s area of expertise. Maintain an active agenda of research and publication in the field of music theory. Participate in activities related to the academic mission of the University, including service on committees, student recruiting and advising, and administration of area exams.
Completed doctorate in Music Theory or equivalent at time of appointment and university-level teaching experience are required. A strong record of scholarly achievement and ongoing research is preferred. We are seeking a dynamic teacher and scholar whose academic interests complement those of our current faculty.
