The University of Toronto seeks a two‐year, full‐time postdoctoral researcher in music as part of the Faculty of Music’s France-Canada Cross Cultural programming. The Faculty of Music welcomes applications from eligible scholars working in all areas of music research (musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory, music education, music and health sciences), music performance, composition, and research-creation. Applicants must either have French citizenship or be working on topics in French music.
The successful candidate will conduct an active program of research resulting in the submission of proposals to research conferences, the submission of articles to academic journals, or participation in other scholarly projects; teach one course for the Faculty of Music in the second year; deliver a colloquium to the faculty; and participate in other faculty activities.
The award is open to both domestic and international postdoctoral researchers.
Nominees must:
> Demonstrate academic excellence and high potential for success in their chosen fields;
> Have completed a PhD by the time the fellowship commences and normally within the last five years from the start of the fellowship; and
Recipients must:
> Begin the fellowship September 2024, no later than December 2024;
> Not hold concurrently another major fellowship;
> Not hold a faculty position or be on leave from such a position.
