JOB DESCRIPTION

The Wabash College Department of Music invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory for the 2024-25 academic year. We seek a candidate to teach three courses per semester plus a lab component. The successful candidate will teach Music Theory I (beginning), II (intermediate), and III (advanced) as part of the department’s core curriculum, as well as a special topics course based on their own expertise. The music major and minor curriculum is taught as part of a broader liberal arts education, and an ideal candidate would have interdisciplinary approaches to music theory and analysis. Such approaches might incorporate popular and world music or multimedia theory.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD or ABD status in Music Theory or a related field. Previous college teaching experience is highly desired. Wabash College does not provide H-1B or other immigrant case sponsorship for short-term visiting positions.
