Berea College

The Berea College Department of Music invites applications for a two-year, full-time Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor of Music, beginning August 2025. Responsibilities include directing a Mariachi or Traditional Latin-American Ensemble in the applicant’s area of expertise, teaching music theory, aural skills, and applied lessons. A terminal degree or equivalent professional experience and post-secondary teaching experience is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in directing a Mariachi or Traditional Latin-American music ensemble in their area of expertise, have an informed understanding of Berea College’s unique mission, and a commitment to fostering diversity through teaching, creative work, and service. Plusses include expertise in applied guitar/brass instruction, world music, and/or music production.
