JOB DESCRIPTION

The School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University invites applications for an adjunct instructor of music theory. The successful candidate will teach multiple sections in both core theory and aural skills, aligning with the content, pacing, and general approach established by the department. These undergraduate courses meet face-to-face on campus in Nacogdoches on weekday mornings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:
1. A master’s degree in music in hand by August 2026.
2. One or more years of teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. A master’s degree in music theory or composition in hand by August 2026 OR ABD in music theory or composition.
2. Two or more years of collegiate classroom teaching experience (may include teaching during graduate study).

$3,000/course
