Support our mission with a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA.

Are you 70½ years or older and have an IRA? You can make a significant impact by donating through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)! A QCD allows you to transfer up to $105,000 directly from your IRA to a qualified nonprofit like ours, without having to pay income taxes on the distribution.

Why Consider a QCD?

  • Tax Benefits: Reduce your taxable income, as the amount you donate through a QCD is excluded from your adjusted gross income (AGI).
  • Fulfill RMD Requirements: Satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year without increasing your taxable income.
  • Make a Direct Impact: Your generous support helps us continue our vital programs and services, making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

How to Make a QCD

  1. Contact Your IRA Custodian: Reach out to your IRA custodian to request a transfer to our nonprofit. They can provide the necessary forms and assistance.
  2. Specify Your Donation: Clearly indicate that your donation is a QCD and provide our nonprofit’s name and tax identification number (13-3013019).
  3. Notify Us: Email us to let us know about your planned QCD so we can ensure your donation is processed efficiently and provide you with a proper acknowledgment.

Important Details to Remember

  • Only traditional IRAs are eligible for QCDs. Other retirement accounts, such as 401(k)s and 403(b)s, must first be rolled over into an IRA.
  • QCDs must be transferred directly from your IRA custodian to the SMT.
  • You can contribute up to $105,000 per year, or $210,000 for married couples with separate IRAs.

Your support through a QCD not only helps you manage your taxes but also empowers us to continue serving our members.

For more information, please consult with your financial advisor or contact our development team. Thank you for considering this impactful way to give!
