The Music Theory Society at Florida State University is pleased to announce its 42nd annual Music Theory Forum to be held March 1, 2025. This conference will be entirely virtual! We are excited to welcome Vivian Luong (University of Oklahoma) as this year’s keynote speaker. This year’s conference is a single-day event to be hosted through Zoom.

The Music Theory Society is currently soliciting proposals for paper presentations on any topic related to music theory. All proposals must be submitted electronically in PDF format and must be received by 11:59 PM EST on Monday, January 5, 2025. Please email these PDF files to: fsumts.forum@gmail.com. Submissions should include the following:

- An anonymous proposal (PDF) of no more than 500 words, including any footnotes or endnotes. A maximum of four pages of supplementary materials may be appended (which will not be counted within the word limit, but should not appreciably add to the word count or content of the proposal);
- An anonymous abstract (PDF) of no more than 150 words suitable for publication in the conference program;
- In the body of the email, list the title of the proposal, the author’s name and institutional affiliation, phone number, and e-mail address.

Selected presenters will be notified by the beginning of February. Accepted presentations will be twenty minutes in length and will be presented via Zoom on March 1, 2025, followed by ten minutes of discussion for each paper. Information regarding registration for the conference will be available at fsumts.wordpress.com by late January. Questions about any aspect of the Music Theory Forum may be directed to the Forum co-chairs, Brittney Pflanz and Cameron Gwynn, at fsumts.forum@gmail.com.
