Texas Society for Music Theory 42nd Annual Meeting

The Texas Society for Music Theory will hold its 42nd annual meeting at the University of Houston in Houston, TX, February 28-29, 2020. The meeting will be held jointly with the Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society and concurrently with the festival entitled Beethoven 250 Houston 2020 in the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston. An international panel of keynote speakers and invited guest scholars will include Scott Burnham, Robert Hatten, James Hepokoski, William Kinderman, and Michael Spitzer. All-Beethoven concerts will occur nightly during the conference: Pianist Prof. Andrew Staupe of the Moores School on Thursday, February 27; Chamber Music by Moores School faculty on Friday, February 28; and Violin Soloist Kristof Barati with the Moores School Symphony Orchestra performing Beethoven's Violin Concerto and the Eroica Symphony, on Saturday, February 29.
