JOB DESCRIPTION

MUSI 311 Chromatic Harmony

Current Offering:
Fall 2020 Lec 01 Mon/Wed/Fri 10:00-10:50 a.m.
Sessional hired at 1 HCE

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most Fall 2020 courses at the University of Calgary will be offered as online/remote courses. MUSI 311 will, thus, be an online/remote offering and will not have any in-person class meetings.

Course Description:

Part-writing and analysis with an emphasis on chromatic harmony and modulation in the music of the nineteenth century.
Course Hours: 3 units; H(3-0)
Prerequisite(s): Music 213.

QUALIFICATIONS

> Doctoral degree in Music and/or equivalent professional experience
> Significant teaching experience and demonstrated ability to deliver music theory curriculum at the post-secondary level
> Successful teaching record for lecture courses and experience grading academic work

Hotel Reservations 

The Hyatt Regency Riverfront Hotel (225 E Coastline Drive) has reserved a block of rooms for conference attendees. The rates are $169/night for single and double occupancy; $194/night for triple occupancy; $219/night for quadruple occupancy; and $169 for student quadruple occupancy (limited rooms available). Hotel reservations for non-students may be made online.  SMT student members should have received an email with a code to reserve at the student rate; please email Jennifer Diaz at smt@societymusictheory.org if you did not receive the email. 

Using the conference room block at this hotel helps us meet our contractual obligations and keeps you close to all conference activities.
