SMT Subvention Grants are awarded on a competitive basis and are intended to reimburse scholars for costs incurred with the preparation and publication of research in music theory. In exceptional cases, Subvention funds may be used to reimburse scholars for costs associated with organizing conferences or workshops that make a substantial contribution to the field.
