All scholars and practitioners of contemporary music (broadly conceived) are invited to submit proposals for research presentations to be delivered as part of the 46th annual New Music Festival hosted by the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music at Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts in Bowling Green, OH, USA. Presentations will take place on the research panel scheduled for Friday, October 17 at 4:30pm.

The festival organizers invite proposals on all topics in contemporary music, and are particularly interested in the following:

· New music programming (especially via festivals) in the U.S. from 1945 to the present
· New music and AI
· New music, multimedia, & multidisciplinarity today

The panel programming committee will select 3-4 papers for the scholarly panel. Paper presenters will have up to 20 minutes to present their work, to be followed by 10 minutes of discussion.

Please send abstracts (no more than 300 words) as PDF attachments to plouila@bgsu.edu by August 8, 2025. In your submission, please include your name, any institutional affiliation, and any audiovisual requirements. Presenters will be notified of the decision by the programming committee (Ryan Ebright, Piyawat Louilarpprasert, and Marilyn Shrude) by August 15, 2025.
