The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is pleased to announce its 10th Biennial Music Theory and Musicology Society Conference from February 27-28, 2026. We are excited to welcome Dr. Cora Palfy (Washington & Jefferson College) for our keynote.
The Music Theory and Musicology Society is currently soliciting paper proposals on any topic related to music theory, musicology, or ethnomusicology from current graduate students. All proposals must be submitted electronically through this form: https://forms.gle/dLbdXP8A9CrHuFY9A and must be received by 11:59 PM EST on Monday, December 15, 2025. Submissions should include the following:
- An anonymous proposal of no more than 500 words, including any footnotes or endnotes. A maximum of four pages of supplementary materials may be appended (which will not be counted within the word limit but should not appreciably add to the word count or content of the proposal).
- An anonymous abstract of no more than 150 words suitable for publication.
We aim to notify selected presenters by early- to mid-January. Accepted presentations will be twenty minutes in length and will be presented in person at CCM on either February 27 or 28, 2026, followed by ten minutes of discussion for each paper. Questions about any aspect of the conference may be directed to the MTMS Board (Micah Roberts, Elizabeth Ross, Helia Cui, and Maxwell Griffey) at ccm.mtms@gmail.com.
