The West Coast Conference of Music Theory and Analysis program committee invites proposals for
20-minute talks on any theoretical or analytical topic for our annual meeting at the University of
California, Irvine, May 16. Proposals should consist of a 500 word abstract, not counting necessary
examples or references (supplementary materials are limited to three additional pages), and are due
by March 20, 2026 by email to abauer@uci.edu. Since proposals are to be reviewed anonymously,
please list your presentation title, name, and contact information in the cover email; do not reveal
your identity within the proposal itself.

This year’s meeting will be in-person at the University of California, Irvine, Given the brief duration
of the conference, we will limit it this year to in-person presenters and attendees. The program will
begin Saturday morning at 9:00 am with an 8:30 am registration and close at 6:00 p.m., with a
Saturday catered reception to cap off the conference and the option to attend the end of the year
recital by our PhD. Students in Integrated Composition, Improvisation and Technology. Amy Bauer
will serve as local arrangements coordinator for the conference.
