We are pleased to announce the launch of a new audio publication through the Society of Music Theory called SMT-Pod.

The SMT Executive Board has three positions that will open up after our 2021 meeting: a new Vice President and two new members of the Executive Board ("Members-at-Large"). Check your email for an invitation from OpaVote to participate in this year’s election.

The Executive Board of the Society for Music Theory condemns the acts of anti-Asian violence that have been occurring this year in the United States and continue to escalate. We urge you to reach out to members of our Society who have been especially affected by these violent acts of the last three weeks, and who are dealing with this pain every day.

Peer Learning Programs: Professor Arnie Cox of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music will be presenting a workshop on Music & Emotion: A Semi-Practical Approach; Professor Áine Heneghan of the University of Michigan will be presenting a workshop on Form and Forming: Schoenbergian Analysis.
